The Maroons are the defending Illinois 4A state champions and they return several key players from last season’s championship squad. The top returning starter is 6’7” Sr. E.J. Liddell who is rated as the #1 player in Illinois! Liddell was named the Most Outstanding Player in the 2017 ToC! Other top returnees include Keith Randolph, Lawrence Brazil, Jaylin Mosby and Marcellus Romious.

Head Coach Verdell Jones will be looking to several returning lettermen to lead the Tigers’ charge into the 2018 season. Six-three, two-guard Payton Sheen is a stealthy shooter from the perimeter and Bryson Tatum is a slashing scorer who has shown great progress in his game. The interior will be held down by the Tigers’ capable big men- 6’6” Sr. Miller Calhoun and 6’7” Jr. Jeremiah Hamilton.

The Lions are back, and they are loaded with talent! One of the top talents in this year’s event is Two-Time ToC All-Star Fred Cleveland. The 5’8” Sr. Cleveland has dominated the competition the past two years and has earned the nickname- “The Mayor of Washington” for his outstanding efforts. The Lions will rely on 6’8” Sr. DaChaun Anderson for points and rebounds in the paint.

CHRISTIAN BROTHERS COLLEGE CADETS

The Cadets return to the ToC and will be loaded with enormous talent once again this season. Past CBC stars- Patrick Mc Caw (NBA-Golden State Warriors), Jordan Barnett and Jordan Barnes have all been All-Tourney performers in the event. But, there is a new player to watch now, and his name is Caleb Love! The 6’3” Jr. Love is rated as one of the top players in the 2020 National recruiting class. He is an athletic scorer who dominates the game on both ends of the court. The Cadets will also rely on 6’7″ Sr. Joshua Wallace and two outstanding Freshmen- Rob Martin and Larry Hughes, jr. for additional scoring.

The Gators are going to be a fun team to watch in the ToC! Head Coach Bryan Brown brings a high-octane offense which will be led by a trio of returning stars. Six-six Juwan Perdue is an ultra-athletic wing who dominates the competition with quick takes to the bucket and electrifying slams in transition. His running mates will be 6’4” Jr. Quentin Hodge and 6’1″ Sr. Nazir Andino who are both starting to turn the heads of college recruiters.  Perdue has made a commitment to Jacksonville State.

Le FLORE MAGNET RATTLERS

Mobile, Alabama

The Le Flore Rattlers have been a dominant force in Alabama High School Basketball for decades. The latest super-star from Le Flore is NBA star DeMarcus Cousins. This year the Rattlers will be led by 6’8” Sr. DeAntoni Gordon who has already made a commitment to Wichita State University. Gordon is a strong, athletic PF who scores in bunches and gobbles up rebounds. Tyler Lang and Curtis Sowels will also be strong contributors for the Rattlers.

RAYVILLE HORNETS

When the Rayville Hornets are playing, you better be in the gym to watch them! The Hornets return four of their top five players from last season’s Louisiana State Championship team that went 35-0! Leading the high-powered offense will be 6’3” Sr. All-America Mylik Wilson (20 ppg- 11 apg) who has committed to the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana. His cousins- JaMarcus Wilson (17 ppg-11 rpg) and JaMichael Wilson (15 ppg- 10 rpg) both averaged double-doubles last season and are also being recruited by several DI programs. The sleeper of the group is 6’4″ Jr. Jay Pleasant who is an explosive combo guard who is fun to watch in transition!

The Falcons have great size, athletic wings and hard-nosed guards. The top talent for the Falcons is 6’5″ Sr. Larenz Williams who is a high-rising wing who can erupt for points off the dribble drive.
Williams possesses quick-ups in the lane, and a lethal pull-up jumper. The Falcons will also look to 6’1″ Jr. Micky Jean-Philippe and 6’8″ Sr. Ronny Dino for offensive assistance.
